Experience

Beyond my formal education, I’ve done a little bit of everything. Between my experience at non-profits and large corporations, I’ve had to adapt fast and learn things on the fly. Here are some of the types of projects I’ve lead:

– Branding from scratch & branding guides

– Brochures, business cards, branded material

– Signage, big and small

Logos & Branding

Identity design is at the core of any company, non-profit, and movement. Logos are made to be timeless and functional in all different forms. Below are some logos I’ve produced.

Print Design

Print design still plays a large part in any marketing or advertising space. From layout design to conceptual advertising and signage, print design is a cornerstone aspect of my education and my work experience.

Digital Advertising & Social Media

Whether it’s paid advertising for search engine optimization, web-placed ads, targeted ads, organic posting or paid posting, digital advertising and social media is a major part of every strong marketing strategy. Below are some examples of social media content I’ve made and managed, as well as some digital and web placement ads.

Motion Graphics

Social media and web graphics thrive with motion. It’s eye catching. It’s efficient. And it’s a great way to communicate with your clients and potential customers.

Website, UX & UI Design

I’ve designed websites and basic applications from scratch, including asset creation and illustrations. Although WordPress is my usual tool of choice, I have a experience in a variety of builders and some basic coding. I also have front-end building experience where we work with other teams to create powerful website solutions.

Illustration

Part of being a designer is using all of the tools you have at your disposal. I have extensive experience with traditional and vector illustration techniques. Illustrations allows a designer to communicate in ways that photography and text cannot do.

Undergraduate Capstone Project

My capstone project for my undergraduate studies was to build a social awareness and educational campaign. I decided to craft a campaign about wildlife, fishing education, and sustainable practices for the state of Virginia. As a part of the year-long project, I created a brand, style guide, problem solved printing, created give-away and instructional material, advertising, a web presence, packaging, and a 60+ page booklet from scratch. Here is a case study with more information!
